Pervaiz Elahi announces plots for journalists
CM Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi approved 700 kanals of land for journalists on Friday.
Earlier, the government had allocated 500 kanals for phase two of the journalists colony. However, due to ‘shortage’ of land, more land has now been allocated in the RRUDP area.
“The dream of every journalist of owning their own house will now be fulfilled,” the chief minister said.
The Cm also said the 5-marla plots will be granted to employees of the Lahore Press Club. Families of deceased journalists will also be given plots.
He added that issues of the journalist colonoy’s B-block, including illegal occupation, will be resolved soon.
The Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project is a project of the Ravi Urban Development Authority. The multi-billion rupee project is already in court for illegal acquisition of land. However, it recently received a green signal form Supreme Court to continue development where land disputes have been settled.
