DEPALPUR, Punjab: A 16-year-old blind girl was raped, allegedly by the music teacher and the watchman at the Government Special Education Centre, Depalpur, where she is a student.

After the filing of the first information report (FIR), registered at the City police station on the complaint of the girl’s father, the police arrested music teacher Muhammad Kamran and school watchman Muhammad Safdar.

According to the complaint, the accused had been raping the girl for the last two months. The survivor’s father said that they had also threatened the girl that if she told anyone about the incident, he would get her expelled from the school.

The father, in the FIR, stated that sometime in September, the watchman escorted his daughter out of class on the pretext that he was taking her to the washroom. He then raped her. It added that the music teacher also sexually violated the girl on multiple occassions and it went on for almost two months.

“On September 3, 2022, the accused violated my daughter’s dignity as well. My daughter told me the whole incident and also said that the accused kept threatening her and that is why she remained silent till today,” it said in the FIR.

The police have since arrested the two accused, while the complainant has requested the Punjab police chief to take notice of the incident
