The post-mortem report of Moazzam Gondal, the PTI supporter who was killed during the attack on Imran Khan’s container in Wazirabad on November 3, has revealed that he was shot from a distance.

According to the report, available with Aaj Digital, Moazzam Gondal was hit by a bullet from the right side above the ear, with the exit wound in the middle of the forehead.

In the description of injuries column, the report notes that there was an abrasion collar but no tattoing or blackening around the wound. According to wound ballistics, this means that the victim was shot from a distance.

According to the National Library of Medicine, there is a presence of muzzle burns in contact wounds, flame burns in near-contact or close-range injuries, and soiling (enveloping of surrounding skin by smoke and gas) and tattooing (embedding of unburnt particles and metal scraps in surrounding skin) in mid-range or intermediate-range wounds.

This suggests that the bullet that hit Moazzam was not from the shooter, identified as Naveed.

Hospital sources add that the bullet that killed Moazzam did not come from a pistol, the gun that Naveed had, but one that uses bigger bullets. The administration added that only the medical officer conducting the post-mortem could give the final opinion in this regard.

Eyewitnesses

After the attack, one eyewitness Afzal Ahmed told Aaj News that Moazzam had been shot by retaliatory fire from security personnel stationed there for security.

According to Ahmed, Moazzam was sititng along the route march outside a shop when he was shot dead.

Another video, however, showed Moazzam lunging for the attacker alongisde another PTI supporter, Ibtisam, when he suddenly collapases to the ground.

This video led people to believe that Moazzam was shot dead by the assailant Naveed. However, the post-mortem report has questioned about this version.

Moazzam Gondal, a migrant worker in Kuwait, was in Pakistan on vacation to see his family. He was visiting the protest march along with hsi children.

Following the attack, multiple videos were uploaded on social media including the one in which Moazzam’s lifeless body is lying on the ground while his children are asking their father to get up.

According to another eyewitness, people were waving at Imran’s container as it was passing by. Suddenly, there was sound of gunfire followed by conmmotion. They said they were ducking for cover and by the time they looked up, they saw Moazzam lying on the ground after being shot in the head.
