Doctor shot dead in Karachi
A medical practitioner has been shot dead in Karachi by unidentified gunmen, police said on Saturday.
Two gunmen who were in a white car shot dead Dr Mohammad Haroon, 34, near Usmania Restaurant in Qasim Goth area along the motorway M9 (also known by its old name of Super Highway), said Malir Senior Superintendent of Police Irfan Bahadur.
Dr Haroon ran a small clinic in the area, according to the police.
The attackers fled in their car leaving behind five bullet shells, which the police have submitted for a forensic examination.
The body was moved to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
SSP Bahadur said they were probing the killing from different angles and trying to collect more evidence.
The motive of the attack was not clear immediately.
