CTD arrests eight suspeted terrorists in operations across Punjab
Lahore: The Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have arrested eight suspected terrorists in raids and operations carried out in different districts of Punjab, its spokesman siad Saturday.
The suspects were arrested from Lahore and other regions, it said. “1,835 grams of explosive materials were recovered from the possession of terrorists”
Other weapons and equipment seized from the suspects included 26 feet safety wire, eight detonators, prohibited materials and firearms.
Suspects Noor Jihad was arrest from Lahore, Talha from Sargodha, one Anas Khan from Gujranwala, Manzoor Sarfraz from Dera Ghazi Khan and Ehsanullah from Rawalpindi.
Three others, Siddiq Shehzad, Tahir Saleem and Asghar Nasir were taken into custody from Multan.
The CTD said that all suspects were associated with banned outfits and cases have been registered against them.
It added that the department has conducted 387 combing operations in the last week. “A total of 145 suspects were taken into custody and 75 cases registered.”
