Mama Juman seen off with song
The funeral of famed revolutionary Sindhi poet Mama Juman Darbadar was not one of tears on Thursday but joyful singing of his poetry, in a funeral befitting of the progressive soul.

Muhammad Juman was born on May 12, 1944 in Umerkot. Along with his primary education, he went to madrassa. He went on to study Horticulture in Mirpurkhas at university and was appointed a field assistant. During his college days, he leaned towards progressive nationalist thought and was involved in GM Syed’s Bazm-e-Sufiya Sindh. His verses are still performed at GM Syed’s final resting place.
