NAB decides to include cases against former presidents, PMs in mega corruption category
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Wednesday decided to include the cases against all former presidents, prime ministers, former federal and additional secretaries in the mega corruption category.
A day earlier, the Supreme Court, during the hearing on PTI Chairperson Imran Khan’s petition against the amendments in the NAB law, ordered to preserve the records of the references returned after the amendments in the law and sought the details of all the references.
Following the Supreme Court’s orders, NAB has started compiling lists of mega corruption cases. The cases of fraud will also be included in mega corruption.
In order to compile records, NAB has asked all the regional bureaus for details of mega corruption cases.
NAB in its letter to the regional NAB bureaus asked that the details of all such cases, registered from the establishment of NAB till October 2022, should be provided.
