Former Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Muhammad Noor Meskanzai died Friday after he sustained serious bullet injuries in an armed by unknown assailants.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) said that Maskanzai was offering Isha prayer as he came out he was attacked by some armed persons in the Kharan area of Balochistan. He received serious bullet injuries, the DIG added.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.

Muhammad Noor Meskanzai had served as the chief justice of the Shariat Court as well. He became BHC top judge in 2014.
