Lt Gen (Retd) Amir appointed Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar
Former Corps Commander Lt Gen (Retd) Muhammad Amir has been appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar, a re-designation from his previous role as ambassador to the UAE.
He was initially appointed to the UAE in August, replacing Ambassador Faisal Tirmazi, who has been reassigned to Brussels.
Under the new diplomatic arrangement, Lt Gen Amir will now represent Pakistan in Qatar, while Ambassador Tirmazi will continue his duties in the UAE.
Additionally, the current ambassador to Qatar, Dr. Mohammad Ejaz, has been reassigned to Belarus. Marghub Saleem Butt, currently stationed at the headquarters, will take over as ambassador to Switzerland.
Furthermore, Mr. Shaukat is being transferred to Cairo to replace Ambassador Sajid Iqbal, and Ambassador Imran Chaudhry, returning from Oman, will be succeeded by Naveed Bokhari, who is currently participating in the National Management Course at the National Defence University in Islamabad.
