Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Tuesday said that no decision had been taken to arrest PTI Chairperson Imran Khan, however, he warned the PTI chief could be arrested if he entered the red zone in the federal capital with his suporters.

“We are ready and fully geared up to frustrate the PTI’s adventures. We will safeguard the red zone in Islamabad,” the interior minister said speaking exclusively on the Aaj News programme Faisala Aap Ka.

He said the law-enforcement agencies, including Pakistan Army, would be deployed to safeguard the red zone.

Earlier in the day Imran Khan, who is planning a “surprise” march on Islamabad, in the coming weeks, administered the oath to the party leaders and workers for the long march at Ceif Minister House, Peshawar.

Addressing party officials and workers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the PTI chief said that when he would give call for long march its every one’s “duty participate in this Jihad for Haqeeqi Azadi”.

Sanaullah said that Imran Khan was misguiding the youth and teenagers. “Which kind of Haqeeqi Wafadari [real loyalty] Imran Khan is talking about,” the minister said and added that it was not ‘real loyalty’ but in fact ‘real treason’.

The interior minister alleged that the PTI chief was bent upon dividing the nation as part of his ‘anti-state agenda’, adding that the PTI chairperson was creating anarchy and chaos in the country and the audio leak had fully exposed him before the nation.

Responding to a question the interior minister said that November would be hard for Imran Khan not for the coalition government, adding that the government would take its decision according to the constitution and law.

Earlier in the day, the coalition government finalized a comprehensive strategy to deal with the long march of PTI toward Islamabad.

The interior minister approved the strategy while chairing an in-camera meeting attended by Interior Secretary Yuosuf Naseem Khokhar, Frontier Corps Commandant Salahuddin Mehsud, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Usman Yuonus, Inspector General of Police Dr. Akbar Nasir, and representatives of law enforcement agencies.

The meeting was told that around 20,000 people were expected to participate in the long march.

The participants decided to engage the Sindh Police, Rangers and FC to ensure law and order in the federal capital during the long march.

The meeting also decided to hand over the security of public buildings and the Diplomatic Enclave in the Red Zone to the Pakistan Army, which would be deployed under Article 245 of the Constitution.

The meeting resolved that the long march would not be allowed to enter Islamabad at any cost, and authorized the relevant departments for taking action against the individuals and organizations which were providing logistical and financial support to the PTI for their march.

Another decision to impose a complete ban on carrying weapons was also taken during the meeting.

It was also decided that action would be taken against the federal employees who planned to support the PTI’s long march.

Directives were issued to ensure freedom of movement and the functioning of educational institutions during the long march.
