In a repeat of previous public gatherings, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan spoke about mass public protests but stopped short of announcin a date as he addressed supporters in Azad Kashmir’s capital Muzaffarabad on Thursday.

“Pakistan is at a crossroads right now,” he told supporters. “When give the call (for mass protests) to my supporters, the people of Azad Kashmir have to come out (on the streets).”

He also took potshots at his political rival, including Maryam Nawaz who had a conviction overturned earlier in the day. Referring to an earlier leaked audio, he said that the PML-N leader sought favours from the premier to get machinery imported from India for her son-in-law.

“Do not vote for those whose conscience is compromised.”

He also lauded the people of Kashmir for their many sacrifices, including those in the face of Indian aggression. On August 5, India terminated the special status of Kashmir, after which we ended all relations with India.

“I have become your ambassador worldwide and will continue to raise my voice for Kashmiris at every international forum.”
