Shuttle service starts for homeless people in Faisalabad
FAISALABAD: The district administration has launched a shuttle service to provide transportation to homeless people to the shelter homes.
“The Faisalabad Urban Transport Service (FUTS) will provide vehicles for shuttle service and these vehicles will carry the shelterless people up to shelter home,” Divisional Commissioner Zahid Hussain said after launching the service.
Deputy Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh, City Assistant Commissioner Sahibzada Muhammad Yousuf, FUTS Administrator Rahat and others were present.
The people who come from far-flung areas or spend their nights on footpaths could avail of the service to reach shelter homes where all necessary arrangements were completed to accommodate them in a “respected” manner, he added.
Hussain said that they would be provided free food and residential facilities for spending the night in a comfortable manner.
