Roads to Quetta blocked as transporters protest tax increase

QUETTA: All Pakistan Bus Transport Union has closed Quetta Toor Nasir Airport Road for all traffic to protest. They are demanding the immediate withdrawal of the illegal tax hike that has been implemented on transporters.

The chairperson of All Pakistan Bus Union, Atiq Khan Kakar, demanded that the increase in illegal income tax, value income tax and other taxes on transporters should be withdrawn immediately.

Due to the closure of the highway, there are long queues of small and big vehicles with people facing severe difficulties.

The Quetta to Karachi National Highway Lak Pass, Quetta Chaman, Loralai, Zhob Road have been closed for all traffic from Toor Nasir.

Kakar also demanded an immediate ban on the illegal Al Marwat and Mala Bihar Company. He said that illegal toll plazas across the country including Balochistan should be abolished immediately along with the increase in toll tax.

Unnecessary check posts set up by customs, excise and other agencies should also be removed from the Quetta Taftan Road, Quetta Gwadar Panjgur Road, Sindh Balochistan Routes, Quetta Loralai, Quetta Zhob Mani Khaw and Quetta Chaman Road, said the APBU chairperson
