PM orders cities to swiftly clear offal during Eidul Adha
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the administration to plan an effective campaign to pick up the remains and offal of sacrificial animals from streets during Eid-ul-Adha as well as clean the nullahs to avoid any flooding and blockages as the monsoon continues.
Section 144 has been imposed on (or a prohibition is in place) for disposing offal in any place other than designated areas in Lahore.
Quetta has been divided into two zones to ensure proper administration as heavy rainfall lashed Balochistan leading to severe floods. They are trying to avoid nullahs being blocked by offal.
Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab asked the residents of Karachi to call helpline 1128 if they have any complaints or trouble with offal collection from their areas.
Muslims all around the globe offer sacrifice on Eid-ul-Adha. However, during the religious rites people forget to take care of the environment leading to an uptick in diseases, as offals and dirty water, and blood streams are left on the streets. The foul smell and mosquitoes land many people in hospitals.
