This Eid-ul-Azha many people are already suffering from inflation and to make matters worse, even butchers are quoting sky-high prices for slaughtering sacrificial animals in Karachi.

This year it was harder to buy animals but even more so to find butchers that would provide an affordable rate.

On the first day of Eid-ul-Azha, if your animal weighs two to three tonnes and you want to get it slaughtered right after Eid prayers, it will set you back about Rs 13,000 to Rs 15,000 but if the animal is heavier than that, the price can go higher.

Rates will be lower by Rs 2000 to 3000 if you delay slaughtering the animals till the afternoon, bringing the prices down to Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000.

While a goat will be slaughtered from Rs 3000 to Rs 6000.

On the second day of Eid, prices of sacrificing a cow or bull have been set from Rs 7000 to Rs 10,000.

Prices will remain unchanged on the third day.

While people are lamenting the high price of sacrificing an animal, butchers are complaining about people asking to negotiate prices.

They are of the opinion that when people can spend millions of rupees when they buy animals they should be ready to spend Rs 10,000 to Rs 14,000 on slaughtering them.
