Expect more rain today in Karachi, says Met Dept weather update
A second monsoon spell is expected in Karachi with heavy rain today, Thursday.
Light to heavy rain continued throughout the night in different parts of the city.
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall of 25 mm was recorded in Surjani Wednesday, 5mm in Nazimabad, 17mm Masroor Base, 16mm Saadi Town.
Roads in Sukkur, Hyderabad, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Larkana turned into canals after rains there.
In the city of Rajanpur in Punjab, a flood from 28,000 cusecs started moving towards the settled area.
Monsoon winds are entering Sindh and Balochistan. The center of the monsoon system is in Central India.
More torrential rains are expected in Balochistan, Sindh, upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall of 161 mm was recorded in Gujranwala Wednesday.
