Karachi has accounted for more than half of the 650 coronavirus cases reported over the last 24 hours, the health ministry data showed.

“Total tests in last 24 hours: 16,755; positive cases: 650; positivity %: 3.88%; deaths: 02; patients on critical care: 138,” the National Institute of Health said in a tweet on Sunday.

The World Health Organisation felicitated the government on July 1 for administering 270 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“This milestone indicates the tremendous efforts made in ensuring that everyone across the country had access to Covid-19 vaccination including hard-to-reach areas,” Dr Palitha Gunarathna Mahipala, the WHO representative in Pakistan, said in a tweet.
