Sidhu Moosewala on PTI campaign poster goes viral
A photo of late Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala has started making the rounds on media, with a reference to his hit song “295.” But perhaps the most surprising place it was found was on an election billboard in Multan.
The singer’s photo was used in the by-election campaign poster of Zain Qureshi, the son of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, alongside Imran Khan.
Sidhu Moosewala, 28, was shot dead in Mansa district in India’s Punjab state on May 29, sending shockwaves among his fans across the world. He was equally famous for his songs in Pakistan as well.
In an interview with BBC Urdu, Zain Qureshi said, “I would like to thank everyone who has printed a picture of Sidhu Moosewala on the poster because this poster has gone very viral because of this picture. None of our posters has gone so viral before.”
Initially Zain Qureshi had said he knew nothing about the poster.
The PTI’s former secretary of finance further said that they were trying to find who printed the picture on the poster and the reason behind it.
