Heavy rain, winds and hailstorms affected at least 293 electricity feeders across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday, said a PESCO spokesperson on Wednesday.

He said electricity on 40 per cent of affected feeders has been restored while work on the remaining faulty feeders was ongoing.

The feeders that were affected included 50 in Khyber Circle, 52 in Bannu Circle, 68 in Peshawar Circle, seven in Hazara-1 Circle, three in Hazara-2 Circle, three in Mardan Circle, five in Swabi Circle and 18 in Swat circle.

PESCO chief Muhammad Jabbar Khan has urged consumers to adopt all precautionary measures during the rainy season to avoid electricity-related accidents.

The PESCO field staff has also been directed to take precautionary measures while fixing faulty lines. He said in some areas due to trees falling and breakage of lines, the restoration of electricity may take more time.

He said he was himself monitoring the process of restoring electricity.

In case of any complaint, he said consumers can contact:

  • PESCO helpline number 118
  • Landline numbers: 091-9292208 or 091-9212010

He also asked consumers suffering from power outages due to the feeders to cooperate with the utility provider.
