YouTuber, host and model Zunaira Mahum has faced a severe backlash after her interview with Dua Zehra and Zaheer Ahmed.

The internet has been criticising Zunaira Mahum over her interview with teenager Dua Zehra who has been making headlines for the last two months.

In an interview Zunaira said she has never said that Dua or Zaheer’s family was right, nor does she support such steps, but her stance from day one was that no alleged gang was involved.

She has been criticized for allegedly promoting girls running away from home to get married. She denied all such allegations.

“Dua did not even want to hear her parents’ name, we convinced Dua Zehra to accept her mistake and publicly apologise to her parents on record,” said Zunaira.

Answering a question as to why she was laughing and smiling in the interview, she said that, “If you are interviewing someone you cannot just put on a harsh face.”

Dua had gone missing from her home in Karachi in April and was found later after marrying Zaheer Ahmed whom she met on PUBG. Dua’s parents had filed a missing report and accused Zaheer Ahmed for kidnapping their daughter.

The matter was taken to court. The court order however, said Dua Zehra is free to decide who she wants to live with.
