Indian authorities issued visas on Thursday to the Pakistan cycling team just 48 hours before the start of the Asian Track Cycling Championship that will start in New Delhi from June 18.

The national team will leave for India via the Wagah border on Friday morning.

The Pakistan Cycling Federation says national team captain Mohsin Khan, Muhammad Sharif, Aqib Shah, Zahoor Ahmed and officials will leave Lahore for New Delhi via Wagah Border on Friday morning.

The delay in the issuance of visas is likely to impact performance due to the little time that the cycling team will have to adjust to the track in New Delhi.

Pakistani cyclists had earlier pointed out that the track they have practised on is different from the one that would be used for the Asian championship.
