I get death threats, but don’t fear death: Imran Khan

Ex-PM claims life in danger after no-trust vote
First two years of our government were very difficult: Imran Khan | Aaj News

PTI chief Imran Khan has said that he did not fear assassination after he had claimed to receive “death threats” followed by political activity in the no-confidence vote.

The ex-prime minister said this in an interview to ITV, a British channel, on Wednesday.

In an address to the lawyer’s convention in Islamabad on Thursday, Khan said, “The US is annoyed over my visit to Russia as its envoy said that Pakistan would have to bear grave consequences, if he [Imran Khan] would not be removed from the premiership.”

He added that opposition lawmakers and dissident MNAs of the PTI met the US envoy in the embassy. “Why did the US diplomats meet the PTI leaders?” he asked.

Khan said his party descended into severe political turmoil in 2018. “The PTI along with close allies of the country saved Pakistan from default as the initial two years during our reign were very difficult.”

The PTI chairperson said he feared the rise in prices of petrol and inflation would lead the country towards the same situation which Sri Lanka was facing.

Khan invited the lawyers to attend a “strong show” that he would announce soon. He did not give any details.
