KARACHI: Thirty labourers were taken to Civil Hospital Karachi Monday in a suspected case of food poisoning.

The labourers were between 18 and 35 years old. They told staff that an unknown man gave them a drink at a bus stop near City Railway Station, Dr Shah Muhammad, Emergency In-charge, told Aaj News.

The police said, however, that a labourer identified as Allah Rakha had provided the drink and after the men fainted he gathered up their mobile phones.

The police have detained the suspect and two accomplices and started investigating.

Edhi ambulance drivers brought the men in the morning.

The staff suspected that the men had food poisoning as they were vomiting.
