NEPRA increases power tariff by Rs7.91 per unit
National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has approved a massive increase of Rs7.91 per unit in the basic power tariff.
After this increase in the tariff price of one unit has soared to Rs24.82. Nepra has sent the hike to the federal government for notification.
The new tariff will be applicable after the final notification from the government, according to a statement.
Nepra in a statement said that it will determine the new tariff based on the distribution and transmission losses and in terms of revenue of different distribution companies.
The regulatory authority in its statement said that the tariff had been determined for the fiscal year 2022-23.
“The authority determines the new tariff based on the distribution and transmission losses and in terms of revenue of different distribution companies,” it said.
