Irked by the government’s actions to curb the long march, PTI chief Imran Khan said that no blockade could stop his party from reaching D-Chowk in Islamabad.

“Servants of America and most corrupt people have placed containers across the country to stop our people [from joining the long march],” he said to a charged crowd at the Swabi interchange as the former premier leads a convoy towards Islamabad.

Imran, who announced the party’s decision on May 22 to hold a long march in the federal capital, has demanded of the government to conduct early elections. This is the second protest of its kind from Imran, after the 2014 sit-in when they protested against the apparent rigging in four constituencies during the elections.

The PTI chief continued to slam the new coalition government for its actions.

“I also ask the court under which law they [government] are stopping us [from this long march], it’s our right,” he said and claimed that they let JUI-F and the PML-N proceed uninterrupted when PTI was in power.

“We will reach Islamabad D-Chowk by crossing all blockades and our protest will be peaceful,” Imran said.

Later, Imran in a tweet dispelled rumours of any deal with the government.

“We are moving towards Islamabad & no question of any deal. We will remain in Islamabad till announcement of dates for dissolution of assemblies & elections are given,” he said.
