Lahore: PTI leader Yasmin Rashid and two other women party leaders were manhandled by the Lahore police on Wednesday at the city’s Batti Chowk, videos showed.

Rashid, Punjab’s former health minister and a cancer survivor, was accompanied by two other women. In the widely shared video, the woman driver can be seen in an angry exchange with policemen who wanted to take Rashid in custody.

The former Punjab health minister was injured while being dragged out of the car. The car’s tyres were also deflated to prevent them from leaving again. Arrest warrants were issued for two women, including Amna Janjua.

Yasmin told Aaj News that the government wanted a “bloody clash” with the protesters. She criticised the government for its actions.

Another video showed the vehicle escaping from another baton charge by a horde of policemen as well as men in plainclothes.

Later, visuals showed the vehicle’s cracked windscreen.
