Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid said on Monday that four official vehicles are parked outside his Rawalpindi residence waiting to take him into custody.

In a statement, Rashid said that personnel in plainclothes were in the four vehicles that have been parked outside his residence. "But I'm not one to fret," he said.

The statement comes at a time when the PTI is all set for a showdown with the government after announcing its march to Islamabad a day earlier.

It has been followed by reports that the coalition government is planning a crack down on PTI supporters while also making a move to arrest PTI's Islamabad-based leadership.

"If the government creates hurdles on one route, we will take another," said Rashid in his statement.

"I will leave the Lal Haweli (his residence in Rawalpindi) at 2pm on May 25 to join Imran Khan in his long march to Islamabad for real freedom."
