‘Threat alert’ issued for possible TTP attacks in D I Khan

Dera Ismail police have issued an alert for possible terrorist attacks in the city, while claiming that banned outfits will target members of the Shia community, as well as important sites, reported Aaj News.

DI Khan DPO Najamul Hasnain issued the alert which stated that Tehreek-e-Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi may attack prominent personalities in the police as well as in the business community, while also putting civil-military areas, schools, mosques and markets on high alert.

The alert was issued after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police received threats, as per which the banned groups were streamlining plans to attack the country in the next two days.

In addition, TTP has also escalated attacks on security force personnel posted at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and adjoining areas.

The DPO has instructed all related DSPs and SHOs to strictly monitor those entering the city while also giving instructions to establish snap checks and beef up security in the DI Khan.
