NA session on no-trust vote summoned on Saturday as per SC order
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has summoned a session of the lower house to vote on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan at 10:30am tomorrow (Saturday) in line with the Supreme Court's order.
In the National Assembly's (NA) agenda issued Friday, voting on the no-confidence motion is the fourth point in the six-point agenda.
The Supreme Court restored the NA a day earlier after it declared the government's decision to dissolve the assembly and NA Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri's ruling on the no-confidence motion against the Constitution.
The top court also ordered the NA speaker to summon the session on Saturday (April 9) no later than 10:30am to allow the vote on the no-confidence motion against the premier.
The apex court also stated that the speaker cannot prorogue the assembly and bring the session to an end if the no-trust motion fails.
It has also instructed to appoint a new prime minister at the earliest in case the no-confidence motion against the premier is successful.
