Hamza Shehbaz mocked for being ‘elected’ as CM Punjab in session at Lahore hotel
Social media users had a field day after PML-N announced that Hamza Shehbaz was ‘elected ‘ as the new Chief Minister of Punjab by 199 votes in a symbolic assembly session held at the Faletti’s hotel in Lahore on Wednesday.
The opposition conducted the session in a hotel after the Punjab government locked the Punjab Assembly gates and put barbed wires on its boundary walls.
At least 200 MPAs including PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, PML-N leaders, PPP, PTI's Jahangir Khan Tareen and Abdul Aleem Khan groups were present at the session.
The legality of the session and Hamza’s ‘victory’ remains unclear, and social media users are having their fun with it.
Twitter users congratulated Hamza for becoming the chief minister of a hotel.
“Following Hamza Shehbaz as Symbolic CM Punjab, Molana Fazal ur Rehman decided to become 'Symbol President of Pakistan,'” said a tweet by Khaleej Magazine.
Many posted memes trolling Hamza for declaring himself as the CM.
One user brought up a highly relatable Game of Thrones reference.
Another asked a very important question.
