Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday said that the opposition has more than the required number of members of the parliament to oust Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Speaking to the reporters alongside Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif outside the parliament house after the National Assembly session was adjourned, Bilawal said that Imran Khan "is now no more the prime minister of the country."

Shahbaz, while speaking on the occasion, termed the adjournment of the session a conspiracy, saying that National Assembly speaker has conspired with the prime minister and that he should be tried under Article 6 of the Constitution.

He also said that the opposition will use every political and legal option to ensure that the voting in no-trust motion takes place on Monday.

PML-Q to support PTI against no-trust move

On the other hand Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), a key ally of the ruling PTI, has assured PM Imran Khan of its full support against the no-confidence motion.

The development comes after the premier met Elahi at his Bani Gala residence where the PTI assured PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi of support for the slot of Punjab chief minister.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has confirmed in a tweet that Prime Minister Imran Khan has nominated Elahi for the post which the latter has accepted.

Meanwhile another senior PML-Q leader Tariq Bashir Cheema has resigned as federal minister suggesting a rift within the PML-Q over the chief ministership of Elahi as well as support to PTI on the no-trust move.
