Police arrest two more people involved in Patoki murder

Punjab police have arrested two more people in connection to a video of a wedding party going viral where people –including children—were enjoying a feast while the body of a murdered man was lying on the marriage hall floor.
The total number of arrested people has come to 14 after the latest update, while the marriage hall has been sealed, reported . Investigation is underway and the arrested people are being interrogated about the incident.
The murdered man, identified as Ashraf, sold crackers in the streets of Patoki in Punjab's Kasur district and was beaten to death by the wedding party over an argument. The guests then returned to their celebrations including enjoying the food as the hawker's lifeless body lay in the wedding hall.
Following hue and cry on social media, the Punjab police chief took notice of the incident and directed Kasur DPO to immediately arrest those involved in the incident and punish them.
Later, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar took notice of the matter and directed the Patoki administration to take action and seal the marriage hall.
On the other hand, the Patoki assistant commissioner also went over to the victim’s house to express his condolence and offer Fatiha. He assured the family that justice will be swiftly served in the case.
