PML-Q hints at supporting opposition's no-trust move if PTI lawmakers defect

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has hinted that it might support the opposition's no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan if some of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) lawmaker defect, Aaj News reported.

This was conveyed to the prime minister during his meeting with PML-Q Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema, Aaj News reported citing sources.

The PM also discussed future political cooperation in case of defection by any PTI members and subsequent support to opposition's no-confidence motion.

As per the report, Cheema said that his party would be forced to support the opposition in case 15 to 20 of the PTI members cease to support the government.

On Tuesday, the opposition parties had submitted a requisition to summon the National Assembly session to take up the no-confidence motion.

PML-N's Ayaz Sadiq, Khwaja Saad Rafique and Marriyum Aurangzeb along with PPP's Shazia Marri submitted the motion and the requisition to the NA speaker.

Addressing a joint press conference the opposition leaders said that they were confident of getting the required number to make the motion a success.

The opposition parties has also been contacting the government's allies to take them into confidence for supporting the opposition's move.
