Why did Wasim Akram "shout" at Babar Azam during a match?
Pakistanis are not happy with Karachi Kings President Wasim Akram for “lashing out” at team captain Babar Azam at the touchline during Karachi Kings vs Multan Sultans match on Wednesday.
A video clip of Akram “aggressively” speaking to Azam during the match went viral on social media. “Really disappointed to see All Format Captain of Pakistan Babar Azam being treated like this by Wasim Akram,” said one user on Twitter.
Another person said what Akram did on the boundary line with Azam was “totally wrong.”
Karachi Kings has had it rough in the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League. Losing all eight matches it has played, the team is out of the run for the title.
Some viewers said Akram might be frustrated with the team’s poor performance, but many noted that it’s his “own fault for not choosing good players.”
People “shamed” Akram for badly treating the Karachi Kings captain, who is the world’s best player.
One user even warned the former cricketer to not cross his limits.
Some fear that Karachi Kings performance might affect Azam’s national team captaincy.
However, many are relieved to see that the criticism has shifted from Azam to Akram, “the one who truly deserves it.”
Social media users also expressed their disappointment with Akram using hilarious memes.
SpongeBob Square Pants’s Squidward also made the cut in one of these memes.
One scene from Feroze Khan’s controversial drama series ‘Aye Musht E Khak” was also posted by a user.
