Social media users have reacted to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s letter in which he raised questions about the mechanism used to award “performance certificates” by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

On Thursday the prime minister awarded certificates to the top 10 performing ministers saying they had achieved all the targets set out for them.

Qurehi's foreign ministry placed 11 in the list.

In a letter to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Establishment Shehzad Arbab on Friday, FM Qureshi sought an early response from the Peer Review Committee on his “serious” concerns with a view “to engage meaningfully in the future review process.”

Social media users had quite a lot to say about the foreign minister’s letter, which was also shared on Twitter.

One of the users termed his letter as turning the performance certificates into a circus.

Another user compared the government with a school child, who complains about not getting a "star on the cheek."

There was one user who felt FM Qureshi was "heartbroken".

Former Dawn's Editor Abbas Nasir related the whole development with one of the cricket matches where "the whole nation read the then cricketer Imran Khan's lips on wicketkeeper batter Wasim Bari's misfielding."

Replying to Abbas Nasir, journalist Omair Ali said: "The didn’t include points for his speeches that leave his supporters speechless for sometime."
