Nawabshah student accuses university dept director of harassment
A final-year medical student of the People’s University of Medical and Health Sciences, Nawabshah, accused a department head of sexual harassment and torture.
According to a media report, the student, identified as Parveen Rind, said that Nursing Director Mustafa Rajput was sexually harassing many girls including her.
Rind said that she had also made these complaints to the vice chancellor and the hostel in-charge but they had asked her to remain silent.
The student alleged that after repeatedly complaining and showing videos of the violence against her, hostel wardens, Farheen and Atika, tortured her inside her hostel room.
On the other hand, an initial medical report confirmed torture marks on Rind's body.
“There are clear marks of torture on the woman’s arms, throat and face,” it stated.
Meanwhile, the vice chancellor has taken notice of Rind's case and formed a three-member inquiry committee to look into the Nawabshah administration of People's Medical University.
