A suicide bomber was killed in an intelligence-based operation near Dial Road, Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement on Sunday.

The operation was conducted on confirmed intelligence reports of the presence of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan terrorists,” the military’s media wing said.

“During the operation, a suicide bomber has been killed. The operation is continuing to eliminate terrorist abettors and accomplices,” it read.

Separately, security forces conducted another operation in militant hideouts in South Waziristan on the suspected presence of outlawed TTP terrorists.

"During the search, Allah Noor was apprehended and a huge cache of arms, ammunition, explosives, IEDs, mortars, grenades, and communication equipment were recovered from his possession," read a statement

In another operation, the security forces recovered M-16 rifles and ammunition at Makeen, South Waziristan based on intelligence input. "As many as four individuals, who were transporting weapons and ammunition to Dara Adam Khel, were also apprehended," it read.

The development comes a day after the ISPR shared an update that “a total of 20 terrorists were killed during operations in Panjgur and Nushki areas of Balochistan. The military completed the clearance operation in the areas on Saturday.

“Terrorists attacked security forces’ camps at Nushki and Panjgur late evening on 2nd [of] Feb. Both attacks were repulsed successfully by the prompt response from troops at both locations,” read the official handout.

In Nushki, it read at least nine terrorists were killed. Moreover, four security forces personnel – including an officer – were during “shoot out” with terrorists while repulsing terrorist attack at Nushki.

The statement further added that security forces repulsed the terrorist attack after an “intense exchange of fire” and terrorists fled from the area.

“Security forces carried out clearance operations to hunt down hiding terrorists in the vicinity. Four fleeing terrorists were killed at Panjgur while four terrorists were encircled the next day by security forces. All encircled terrorists were killed in today [Saturday]’s operation as they failed to surrender,” it read.

In the operation, five soldiers – including a junior commissioned officer (JCO) – were martyred and six soldiers were injured during follow up operations at Panjgur that lasted for 72 hours.

“Three terrorists linked to these attacks were also killed yesterday [Friday], including two high-value targets at Balgatar, Kech in a follow-up clearance operation conducted on a makeshift terrorist hideout,” it read, “our security forces stand firm and resolutely committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism from our soil no matter what the cost.”
