Hospital technician performs surgery, films patient during operation at Daska

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken notice of an incident after a video of an operation theatre technician performing a surgery without the presence of a doctor at Daska Civil Hospital went viral, reported Aaj News.

According to the report, technician Asim performed the appendix surgery of the woman without any surgeon during the entire operation. He also filmed himself as well as the patient, who was in a compromising state due to the operation.

The report added that the patient wasn't administered proper anaesthesia with the technician "barbarically" inserting the oral tube and applying stitches to the patient who was under immense pain.

The chief minister has summoned a report from the health secretary, while ordering legal action against members of the hospital involved in the incident of medical malpractice and administrativer oversight.
