Pakistanis on Monday expressed grief on social media over the death of leading Turkish actor Ayberk Pekcan.

The actor starred in the popular Turkish series Resurrection Ertugrul as Artuk Bey, the man who was Ertugrul’s right-hand man.

According to Turkish news outlet Daily Sabah, Pekcan succumbed to lung cancer on Monday after battling the illness for a ling time. Born in 1970, Pekcan was 51 years old.

Social media users offered prayers for the actor.

They also praised the actor’s portrayal of his character Artuk Bey in the drama Ertugrul.

Pekcan’s co-actor, Esra Bilgic took to Twitter to share a sweet memory with the deceased.

PTI leader Faisal Javed Khan termed the actor’s death a “huge loss to Turkish entertainment industry.”
