Why do people want PM Imran Khan to meet Waqar Zaka?
Pakistani Twitterati wants Prime Minister Imran Khan to meet television host Waqar Zaka so that he can explain the phenomenon of cryptocurrencies to the premiere.
Zaka is a long-time advocate for digital currency and believes that investing in cryptocurrencies can help alleviate poverty in Pakistan.
Last week on Wednesday local media wrote about a report being submitted to the Sindh High Court calling for a ban on the use of all cryptocurrencies in Pakistan.
Zaka was the face of the campaign #Youthwantscrypto, that urged the authorities to take back the ban and instead create awareness and embrace the technology that has the potential to raise Pakistan back from the slumps.
Many Pakistanis believe that PM should meet Zaka as he will give “proper information” regarding the “revolutionizing technology.”
One user called Zaka an “expert” and “pioneer” of cryptocurrencies in the country.
Cryptocurrencies a form of digital money that can be used over the internet without a central monetary system such as a bank or government.
The television host is a self-proclaimed crypto influencer, who has, time and again, posted on social media that his campaign for cryptocurrencies has made him a victim of harassment.
