Dhoni ‘gifts’ his Chennai Super Kings jersey to Haris Rauf
Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has “gifted” his Chennai Super Kings – a franchise in the Indian Premier League – jersey to Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf.
This is another kind gesture from India’s World Cup-winning skipper after his meet up with Pakistani players in the T20I World Cup when the Green Shirts beat the Men in Blue in the mega event.
Rauf, who is in Australia for the Big Bash League, shared the development in a tweet on Friday. The pacer thanked the former Indian captain and CSK Team Manager Russell Radhakrishnan for his support.
He also shared it on his Instagram account.
“The legend & capt cool MS Dhoni has honoured me with this beautiful gift his shirt. The “7” still winning hearts through his kind & goodwill gestures. [CSK Team Manager] Russell Radhakrishnan especially Thank you so much for the kind support,” it read.
In reply, Russell said: When our captain MS Dhoni promises he delivers, glad you love it champ #whistlepodu @ChennaiIPL.”
Rauf, with his pace and grit, has made an impact in international cricket. And, his performance with the Melbourne Stars in the Australian T20 cricket league has garnered him many fans.
On January 3, the pacer took an “unbelievable” catch at the boundary line during a match against Melbourne Renegades. Rauf was all pumped up after the catch and the crowd praised him for his effort.
It is pertinent to mention that Rauf also plays for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League.
