Another 'explosion due to gas leakage' reported in Karachi's Shershah area
Another blast was reported in Karachi's Shershah area on Friday, police said, less than a month after another explosion due to gas leak in the same area left 18 dead, Aaj News reported.
Police added that the blast occurred because of gas leakage and the accumulation of gases in the nullah near Paracha Chowk. They added that several shops were damaged because of the blast and rescue workers have been called in.
So far, no casualties have been reported.
At least 18 people were killed and many injured in a blast near Paracha Chowk in Karachi's Shershah area on December 18. Among the deceased was the father of PTI MNA Alamgir Khan. An FIR was registered against the owner and the constructor of the building at the SITE B Area Police Station.
Police and the bomb disposal squad had confirmed that the explosion occurred due to gas leakage in a nullah located under the branch of a private bank.
