Two more succumb to injuries as Quetta blast death toll rises to 6

Another two people who were injured in Thursday's blast in Quetta have succumbed to their injuries, taking the death toll from the Jinnah Road explosion to six, Aaj News reported.

Twelve people are currently under treatment at the Trauma Centre of of Civil Hospital.

The Counter-Terrorism Department has filed a case against unidentified people. Its spokesperson said in a statement that at around 9:40pm [on Thursday], an improvised explosive device (IED), planted at the main gate of Science College Ground, went off as participants of a public meeting were leaving the venue.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has condemned the terrorist attack and expressed dissatisfaction over the security arrangements in the province capital. He also expressed sorrow over the causalities and has sought a report on the incident from the provincial police chief.

As per police, the nature of the blast would be ascertained after completion of evidence collection from the site and its forensic analysis.
