Senate employee booked, suspended for harassing woman in Islamabad
A case was registered against a Senate employee for filming a woman and harassing her in the federal capital, reported The News on Wednesday.
The video of the incident, which went viral on social media, shows the man running away after being confronted by a woman asking him why he was filming her without consent.
In the video, the woman can be heard saying she would call the police helpline on 15 to register the complaint.
However, the man - identified as 18-grade officer of Senate's legislative branch Rana Azhar - ran away.
According to a first information report (FIR), the man started filming the woman as she stopped by an ATM.
"I asked the person why he was shooting the video. At this, the man admitted that he was filming me and made a run for it," the report quoted the FIR.
After the identity of the man was revealed and the case was registered against him, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani suspended him and ordered an inquiry into the matter.
