The final autopsy report confirmed Wednesday that Nazim Jokhio was beaten violently by hard and blunt objects, which caused cardiac arrest that resulted in his death early in November.

Jokhio was a young man from Malir area in Karachi, who was allegedly murdered by the chieftain of his tribe for filming and sharing a video of foreigners hunting houbara bustard, an endangered species of bird, near his village in Thatta.

Jokhio's family nominated member of the Sindh Assembly of the Pakistan’s People’s Party Jam Awais Gohram for the alleged murder after Jokhio’s body was recovered from his farmhouse last month.

They claim an intoxicated Jam Awais had tortured Jokhio after he refused to apologize for filming the video and sharing it on social media.

"On the basis of the examination of the victim’s chemical analysis and histopathology reports, death occurred due to vasovagal inhibition/ shock which led to sudden and fatal cardiac standstill caused by violent impacts of hard and blunt objects,” said the autopsy report from the office of the additional police surgeon.

According to Dawn.com, the report took two weeks to finalize. It also included details of the samples doctors had analysed to determine the cause of death.

The Nazim Jokhio murder case is ongoing, and on Tuesday the police charge-sheeted 23 suspects which included two PPP lawmakers and two foreigners.

Moreover, the investigation officer (IO) submitted an interim challan to Judicial Magistrate Altaf Hussain which stated that he had inspected Awais’ farmhouse and recovered a blood stained club and wooden board.
