Junaid Safdar and Ayesha Saif’s families celebrated a colourful and musical mehndi night in Islamabad on Sunday. Videos and pictures of the event are making rounds on social media and giving everybody major FOMO (fear of missing out).

The mother of the groom, PMLN vice president Maryam Nawaz donned a stunning light blue dress with elaborate embroidery paired with elegant pieces of jewelry. Junaid opted for a simple white shalwar and kurta with a beige shawl draped over his shoulders.

The mother-son duo were complimented for looking "absolutely gorgeous" and people can’t get enough.

The bride, meanwhile, chose to wear red and gold ensembles with minimal jewelry.

One user wished Junaid and Ayesha a blessed journey ahead.

“This Lahori political family is setting some serious wedding goals,” said another.

The groom was spotted getting a haircut at a local barber shop in Mansehra on Saturday. He had visited the city prior to his wedding to pay respect at the graves of his ancestors.

Many called it a “publicity stunt.”

Others found it as an opportunity to troll the groom.

Junaid and Ayesha’s pre-wedding festivities are all anyone can seem to talk about on social media. When Aaj News team reached the Mehndi location in Islamabad on Sunday, they were abused and beaten by the guards at the event.

“They threatened to break our equipment and told us to get lost,” said Usman Muzaffar, Aaj News correspondent in Islamabad.
