Woman arrested for getting husband murdered with paramour's help
The Karachi police arrested a woman for the alleged murder of her husband with the assistance of a man and pretending the situation was a robbery, local channel 24 News reportd on Thursday .
According to the report, the victim Shahbaz Nathwani was an IT expert and a resident of the Safoora area of Karachi.
The Counter-Terrorism Department of the Karachi police arrested Nathwani’s wife and her servant Jamshed Khalid for their alleged involvement in the murder. As per the police, Khalid was Dania's paramour.
Khalid used a licensed pistol to shoot the victim which was recovered by the CTD officials while they were collecting evidence.
In June, the woman reportedly left her husband's house following a falling out to go live with her parents. The woman's brother helped mediate in the dispute and brought about a reconciliation.
After resolving the issue, the couple left for their home on June 7 at 5:15am in a car driven by the woman, with her husband in the passenger seat.
As per the inquiry of the CTD officials, the woman stopped the car on a deserted road where Khalid, the servant and alleged parmaour, was waiting for them by the roadside.
The accused fired two bullets at Nathwani from his 9mm pistol at a close range, says the police. They added that the woman portrayed the murder as street crime.
The CTD made the breakthrough in the case after it was handed over to them by the Sindh IGP at the request of the country's Ismaili community of which the victim was a member.
Earlier, three teams of Karachi East police had failed to solve the case.
