A man was killed and three others injured after two assailnts on a motorcycle opened fire at their vehicle on Karachi's busiest road, Shahra-e-Faisal, on Monday.

The victims, identified as Waseem, Kausar, Muneer and Qadeer, were returning from a court hearing when their vehicle was attacked near Nursery, according to DIG East Saqib Iqbal Memon.

As per police, the deceased Waseem had married Kausar against the wishes of her family, with Kausar's father and brother against the marriage.

Waseem died on the spot while the other three were moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment, with the woman Kausar said to be in critical condition.

Police have sealed the crime scene and investigation is underway.
