It's becoming difficult to work with PTI govt, says Pervaiz Elahi
In a series of tweets on Sunday describing the problems faced by people due to inflation, PML Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said it was becoming difficult to support the PTI government.
The PML Q is a key ally of the PTI government and holds several portfolios; Elahi is also speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
Elahi tweeted that the common person is burdened by rising prices and the government hasn't done anything to alleviate their suffering.
He was especially critical of the government "rubbing salt on wounds" of the public by presenting non issues and not addressing the economic situation.
Elahi held a meeting with members of the PML Q parliamentary group in which they discussed the economic crisis in the country and how it's become difficult to work with the government in these circumstances.
The members said they entrusted Elahi to decide whether to stay in the government or pull their support.
Pakistan is rife with rumors and theories about the fate of the current PTI government and focus is on its coalition partners. They recently expressed serious concerns about the bill regarding the use of the electronic voting machine after which the bill was not presented.
