ISLAMABAD: The banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has withdrawn its demand from the government to expel the French ambassador, reported Aaj News on Sunday.

According to the sources the main points of the agreement between the government and the banned TLP have come to light according to which the banned TLP will not hold a long march or sit-in in the future while the release of Saad Rizvi will be decided by the courts.

As per the agreement, the banned organization will join the political mainstream as a political party in the future.

The government, on the other hand, has agreed to release all arrested workers of the proscribed outfit.

As per the agreement, the government will withdraw its decision to declare the TLP a banned organization and will not take any action against the sit-in participants.

Former Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chief Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has agreed to act as the TLP’s guarantor while Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan have signed the agreement with the TLP on behalf of the government.

Earlier today, government and TLP reached an agreement.

Rehman while addressing a press conference said that under the agreement, a steering committee has been formed that will be headed by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and this committee will become functional from Sunday.

He had said that talks with the banned TLP have been "successful".

"I want to urge the entire nation that this is not the victory of any individual, but it is the victory of Islam, patriotism, and protection of human lives," he added.
